Features / Brand Mention Tracking

Somebody's talking about you.
Wiley noticed.

Wiley watches your referrer traffic for spikes from social platforms and media domains, then checks those spikes against your own known-referrer averages. When a mention is real, Wiley ties it directly to the traffic bump it caused — not just a vague "traffic is up" note.

How Wiley tells a mention from noise

Every day, Wiley checks your top referring domains against their own 30-day rolling average. When a domain sends more than three times its usual traffic, that's flagged as a possible mention — not assumed, checked.

If the spike lines up with a real jump in your visitor count, and that one domain accounts for a meaningful share of the increase, Wiley surfaces it as a traffic_social Connection — strong confidence if the referrer explains more than 30% of the spike, possible otherwise.

What it looks like

Social strong

A regional news write-up sent a referrer spike three days before this traffic jump — that domain alone accounted for 41% of the increase.

Common questions

What counts as a mention?

Any referring domain sending traffic well above its own historical average — a news write-up, a viral social post, a forum thread, a newsletter feature. Wiley doesn't need a direct integration with any specific platform to catch it.

Does this require connecting my social accounts?

No. Detection runs entirely on your own referrer data — no OAuth, no third-party account connection required.
